Once upon a time.....the story of dreams coming true

Do you ever wonder about the meaning of dreams?  As a little girl, I used to have dreams about traveling to faraway places and living an magical life.  Perhaps, this was due to the exquisite dolls that my godmother would send me from her travels around the world.  As I received each doll, I imagined what it would be like to wear those beautiful clothes, savor new flavors and dance to the rhythm of exotic music.

I grew up knowing that one day I would travel to those faraway places to experience culture at a deep level.  When I was sixteen, I traveled abroad for the first time.  The “travel bug” bit!  I knew from then on, the passion of my life was traveling!  This was the call of my soul.

When I began my career as a teacher, I took my students on trips all over the world.  I became known as the “travel” teacher wherever I taught!  The eyes and hearts of my students opened up as they experienced cultures at a deeper level than they ever had before. 

Since 1998, I have traveled to over 40countries………..and still yearned to explore more.  In January 2011, I decided to create my own company, where one could rediscover themselves through immersing in transformational experiences in magical places.  While meditating when I was on a yoga retreat, I began receiving signs that I was to create this company.

I ask the Universe to give me a clear, bold sign with the word “Serendipity.”  It needed to be big enough that I couldn’t deny it was a sign.  I told the Universe to make sure it smacked me in the face……….I wanted it that BIG!

For the next several weeks, I didn’t see anything that said “Serendipity” on it.  Not a road sign, magazine ad, nothing.  On a cold Sunday afternoon in late February, I went to the movies with my friend Noel.  When we got to the theatre, we decided on a different movie than the one we intended on seeing.  We settled down in our seats to watch the movie.  The theatre became dark and the previews began.  After the first preview, it became dark again and I expected another one to appear.

However, the strangest thing happened.  It was as if someone had a huge highlighter marker and they began writing across the screen.  The word that was written in large, handwritten style was SERENDIPITY!  It was written across the full length of the screen in bright yellow and it stayed there for at least a full minute!!  I felt goosebumps on my arms and couldn’t believe what I was seeing.  Wow!  When you ask the Universe for a clear sign, the Universe gives it!

I knew at that moment that I was meant to follow my heart and live my passion!  Although, the purpose of the company has changed from traveling to coaching, workshops and retreats for women, the places are still exotic and blissful.  It’s all about living a life that is full and joyful!  And, of course, true to the soul.

On the morning of November 6th, 2014 I woke up from a life-changing dream...

An earthquake had just occurred.  Everything was devastated, in rubbles and ruins! Nothing was standing except the exterior walls of a two-story red-brick house.  None of the interior walls existed anymore.  Only the four walls that held up the roof. Everything else around it was in piles of rubble.  For some strange reason, I felt calm.

I saw that the house was situated beyond a pile of rocks.  The rocks represented different parts of my life:  my family relationships, my romantic relationships, my "career", my body, everything I thought was "real.”  A little man was removing each of the rocks, one at a time.  Seemed like it took forever.  I felt the urge to go to the house.  So, I climbed over the rocks and walked toward it.

When I got to the house, I saw a saw-horse with a plank table outside the house.  As I approached the house, a Fed Ex truck pulled up and a guy got out.  He handed me a set of blueprints, which he opened up and set on the plank table.  Then he said, "Here are the blueprints to your house." 

He then explained, "They are for you, Margaret.  These are your house plans." 

I replied, "What do you mean?"

He said, "This house is your life.  You get to design it anyway you want.  Think clearly of what you really want.  You see, Margaret, each room represents each area of your life."

I said, "I don't get it.  Why did the earthquake have to happen?  I only have a shell of a house to work with."

Calmly, he explained, "Everything has to fall apart completely in order to build anew.  You cannot build something new from an old structure or form."  He went on to explain further, "This time, you own the blueprints.  You get to design your life the way you want to.  You have to clear out the 'clutter' of your life (that which you don't want) in order to envision.........and then create that which you do want.  Think about how you want to design each room carefully...........and thoughtfully.  Plant the seeds of desire in each room."

"Margaret, my love..........You are the Designer, the Creator, the Architect of your life!" 

Wow!  What an epiphany!  This dream became the catalyst for me beginning to design my life……….my way, with my personal imprint and style!

How do you want it all to feel?

I want my day to feel like sunflowers in Provence.

I want kissing to feel like the warm, powerful rush of the waterfall from a healing springs in Bali.

I want my body to feel like the passion expressed in the dance in Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud.

I want my next success to feel like the magic of serendipity.

I want my love to feel like the rush and freedom of jumping off the cliff and feeling my wings unfurl as I soar.

I want my integrity to feel like the beating of my heart, strong and never-ending.

I want my forgiveness to feel like the sweetness after a summer rain.

I want my love to feel like a magnolia tree, deeply rooted and strong against the wind, with branches outstretched to the sun…..with fragrant blossoms opening.

I want the end of my day to feel like the sun setting over the Mediterranean Sea in Italy.

I want my friendships to feel like being wrapped in my favorite afghan, sipping mint tea and basking in the joy of laughter.

I want my challenges to feel like reaching a breathtaking vista after hiking through the mountains in Idaho.

I want my ideas to feel like multiple orgasms when I’m making love to the Love of My Life.

I want my traveling to feel like discovering the hidden gate to a secret garden.

I want my teaching to feel like the candle flames lighting up at a rock concert.

I want my meditation to feel like soaking in the Blue Lagoon in Iceland under a December snowfall.

I want my mornings to feel like savoring an orange off a tree in Spain and walking amongst the scent of jasmine.
